Yanae M. Barroso

ATTORNEY

Focusing exclusively on marital and family law, Yanae M. Barroso combines over 14 years of hands-on experience with passion and dedication to her local community.  She frequently represents clients in multifaceted, high-net-worth matrimonial matters of law, and has proven practice in dissolution of marriages, high conflict equitable distribution, adoption, and LGBT family law issues.  Ms. Barroso is incredibly passionate about helping families navigate their way through contested and uncontested marital and family law matters and is knowledgeable and understanding of such cases concerning paternity, enforcement and modification proceedings, alimony, child support, timesharing, and parental responsibility.

Ms. Barroso gained early experience in marital and family law as one of the first associates at preeminent and AV-rated Fogel Rubin & Fogel in Miami, Florida. In 2022 and 2023, Ms. Barroso was selected to the Florida Rising Stars list in Family Law. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the State are selected to receive this honor and recognition by Super Lawyers, which is attained by a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. While remaining fully committed to her family law practice, Ms. Barroso also sits as a part-time Hearing Officer for the 16th Judicial Circuit in Key West, Florida, presiding over civil traffic infraction cases. She currently serves as a Governor on the Board of Governors for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Barroso was elected by her peers for this position and proudly represents the 16th Judicial Circuit, which includes Monroe County, Florida. In June 2023, she was elected as a member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and was presented with a Rising Star award.

An active advocate for historical preservation of her Key West hometown and the Florida Keys community, she was awarded the Florida Bar Animal Law Committee’s Outstanding Service Award on behalf of her work to draw attention to the endangered Florida Key Deer.  Through her published work in the Florida Bar Animal Law Committee Newsletter, she gained the attention of the United States Congress. This led to the installation of signage along Overseas Highway US-1 to generate community awareness for an endangered species of deer symbolic of, and native to the Florida Keys.  In addition to animal advocacy, she is a dedicated member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section, Monroe County Bar Association Pro Bono Committee, and the Rotary Club of Key West.

Through compassionate care, clear communication, and excellent detail, Ms. Barroso dedicates her time to serving the needs of families in her hometown of Key West and throughout Monroe County.
